As one of Evanston’s oldest Black male community organizations, the Chessmen Club is uniquely positioned to help black youth and the community reverse the negative trends impacting them today. We serve as mentors, advocates and role models, while providing scholarships and pathways to internships and job opportunities.  Furthermore, we are committed to providing our time, energy and support to address issues impacting our community such as hunger, literacy and health.

The mission of the NAACP is to secure the political, educational, social, and economic equality of rights in order to eliminate race-based discrimination and ensure the health and well-being of of all persons. The branch meets on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 7:30 p.m.

The Young Masterbuilders in Motion (YMIM) inspires, connects, and empowers young women orphans, adoptees, foster youth and alumnae to thrive.

The YMIM provides a holistic approach to mentoring and leadership development. Our programs are delivered through empowerment workshops, life enrichment retreats, and international missions experiences.
